Understanding claims made membership

thumbnail

Watch our video to find out more. Unlike occurrence membership (where you can ask for assistance if you were a member when the incident occurred, whether you’re in membership, stopped practising or retired) claims made members must be a member when the incident occurs and when the claim is first notified. Members must maintain continuous membership in order to ask for assistance for incidents in previous years.

Members who leave, retire or go on a break will need to consider an extended reporting period to continue to request assistance for matters during a previous claims made period. There is usually a cost for this.
